KATHMANDU, JANUARY 15
The All Nepal Football Association today announced the National Women’s League with double-leg format and increased prize money.
Unlike previous editions when the teams were divided into groups, the participating teams this year will play in round robin league and in double-leg format.
The ANFA also increased the prize money in three folds. The top four teams will receive Rs 1.5 million, Rs 800,000, Rs 500,000 and Rs 300,000 respectively.
The best player of the league will get a scooter, while five best individuals — striker, midfielder, defender, goalkeeper and coach — will receive Rs 50,000 each. The fair play team will earn Rs 150,000. The ANFA will provide Rs 150,000 each to the participating teams as preparation money and COVID Relief Fund.
A total of seven teams — Chaudandigadhi Municipality, Tribhuvan Army Football Club, Nepal Armed Police Force, Biratnagar Metropolitan City, Waling Municipality, Chandrapur Municipality and Nepal Police Club — will participate in the tournament. The opening and closing games and ceremonies will be held at the Dasharath Stadium, while other matches will be played at the ANFA Complex grounds.
According to the ANFA, each team is allowed to sign and play a maximum of four foreign players.
“ANFA will manage accommodation for all the members of the participating seven teams and will also provide isolation facilities if any player or official develop COVID-19 symptoms during the tournament,” the football governing body said.
