39 min: South Africa held up! A set move after the won a free-kick 5m from the tryline was worked out to Kriel towards the right wing. The centre cut inside and had the line in sight but a combination of Parkes and Jenkins prevented him from touching down. That said, Luke Pearce has gone to the TMO so don’t listen to me… for now.
37 min: So nearly a brilliant try from Papier. A South Africa lineout was a little untidy as AW Jones competed with Etzebeth who patted the ball back. The scrum-half, back-pedalling, improvised on the short side, though, and then fired a grubber past North but couldn’t gather the ball as it bounced up and knocks on. Liam Williams was maybe covering but could have been a fine score.
