KATHMANDU: Times International Club defeated Royal Basketball Club 80-69 in the Kwiks Nepal Basketball League to end the league round campaign on a high here on Friday.
With their 12th victory in 14 matches, Times accumulated 26 points and are at the top of the table. Tribhuvan Army Club, who have two matches on hand, are second with 23. Both Times and TAC have already secured two of the four playoffs berths.
Three teams — Golden Gate International Club, Nepal Police Club and Budanilkhantha Municipality Basketball Club — are tied on 20 points and all of them have one match to play.
On Saturday, Times opened with 20-19 lead before extending the lead in the second quarter after they won 21-9. RBC took the third period 20-14 to reduce the deficit to seven points but Times hit back in the final quarter taking it 25-21.
Sadhish Pradhan of Times was named the player of the match for his 26 points, along with four assists and one rebound.
