Patrick Reed, who has the same unexpectedly dainty movements as Oliver Hardy, makes birdie at 2 to advance his score to 5-under. That makes up for the birdie opportunity the 2018 Masters champion missed at the par-5 2nd when he presumably gave a withering look to camera. But it’s another fine mess for fellow American Andrew Putnam on Royal Portrush’s early holes. Putnam needed six swishes on the 2nd yesterday and he makes double at his opening hole today.
