KATHMANDU: Saraswoti Youth Club defeated Brigade Boys Club 2-1 during their Pulsar Martyr’s Memorial ‘A’ Division League at ANFA Complex ground in Satdobato of Lalitpur on Tuesday.

SYC’s Binod KC scored a wonderful goal in the second minute of the game. However, BBC’s foreign recruit Abdu Nsiah equalised later in the first half.

SYC restored their lead as foreign recruit Francis Onyeama notched a goal in the second half to secure a second win and precious all three points in the tournament.

Later, SYC’s Susan Lama was awarded man of the match for his scintillating performance and bagged a cash purse of Rs 10,000.

Likewise, in another game of the day, Manang Marsyangdi Club beat Armed Police Force Club 2-1 today to go atop the 14-team table.

MMC’s foreign recruit Adelaja Somide opened a scoring in the 19th minute before APF Nabin Lama levelled the score in the 27th minute courtesy a penalty kick.

On the stroke of half-time, MMC midfielder Anjan Bista scored a goal to give a 2-1 lead over the departmental team.

After the resumption, APF poured men forward in search of an equaliser but to no avail. MMC rearguard thwarted APF’s moves with ease and held on to their lead to leapfrog Tribhuvan Army Club to top the table with 12 points from four games.

Later, MMC striker Adelaja Somide was awarded man of the match.

TAC is two points adrift of MMC in the chart.
