Ian Watson, the Salford coach, admitted his side’s tight 24-16 victory over Toronto was a “must-win” game despite being only their second Super League fixture of the season.
The Red Devils were thrashed 48-8 by defending champions St Helens in their opening clash last weekend. But they bounced back to beat Toronto, courtesy of tries from Niall Evalds and Dan Sarginson in the final seven minutes.
