KATHMANDU: Defending champions Nepal have beaten Bhutan in the final of the men’s football in the ongoing 13th South Asian Games (SAG), retaining the title.
With this, Nepal has added one more gold to its tally. Nepal’s total medal count has reached 198 with 51 gold, 55 silver and 92 bronze.
Nepal took the lead in the second half of the game with Sunil Bal’s goal in the 52nd minute.
Nepal and Bhutan had both scored one goal each before the halftime of the game.
Nepal’s Abhishek Rijal scored an early goal against Bhutan in the 16th minute.
However, Bhutan scored the equalising goal against Nepal in the 36th minute. Bhutanese captain Chencho Gyeltshen scored for Bhutan.
