KATHMANDU: Sri Lanka defeated Maldives 2-0 to advance into semi-finals of the ongoing 5th edition of SAFF Women’s Championship in Biratnagar on Friday.
Sri Lanka’s Chalani Ekanayake scored a brace to seal a comfortable win over the Maldives team at the Sahid Stadium today.

Ekanayake struck two goals on 40th and 50th minutes of the game.
After suffering two back-to-back defeats, Maldives have been eliminated from the group stage of the competition. Sri Lanka and India have qualified for the semi-finals with a game to spare.
The hosts, Nepal will take on Bangladesh at the same stadium tomorrow.
