- Rs 184 million less than FY 2017/18
PHIDIM: The government has allocated Rs 1.916 billion budget for eight local levels of the Panchthar district for the fiscal year 2018-19.
The local levels will be extended grants under fiscal equalisation principle and as conditional financing.
District headquarters Phidim Municipality has been allocated Rs 43.2 million, the largest amount to be received in grant among all the local levels.
Similarly, among the rural municipalities, Miklajong Rural Municipality has been allocated Rs 27.9 million in funds while the least amount has been separated for Tumbewa Rural Munciipality (Rs 15.45 million).
Meanwhile, Phalelung Rural Municipality has been allocated Rs 21.45 million, Phalgunanda Rural Municipality Rs 23.79 million, Kummayak Rural Municipality 16.88 million, Hilihang Rural Municipality Rs 22.93 million, and Yangwarak Rural Municipality Rs 19.3 million.
This year’s budget for the Panchthar district has decreased in comparison to the last fiscal. In FY 2017/18, Phidim Municipality was allocated Rs 49 million whereas it has decreased by Rs 5.8 million this year. Similarly budget for other rural municipalities have decreased in average.
In the fiscal year 2017/18, all the local levels of Panchthar district were collectively allocated with Rs 2.1 billion.
