KATHMANDU: Nepali footballer Rohit Chand Thakuri, who has been featuring for Persija Jakarta, has won the most valuable player title of Indonesia’s Liga 1 football league.
Rohit played a significant role in the lead up to the team’s championship title this year. 26-year-old Rohit, ANFA youth system product started his career from Machhindra Club, before plying his trade in a foreign land.
A two-footed player, Rohit started a career as a central defender before being deployed as a deep-lying playmaker in the national team. Meanwhile, Rohit has been deployed in a more advanced position in the Persija Jakarta.
Rohit is a vital member of the Nepali national team.
