POKHARA: Long-distance runner Hari Kumar Rimal of Tribhuwan Army Club won the title of the 13th Safal Pokhara Marathon organised by Ex-sportsman Forum Nepal here in Pokhara on Tuesday.
Rimal completed the 42.195km distance in two hours, 40 minutes and 10 seconds to finish first in the race — 10 second ahead of Khim Bahadur Khatri from Nepal APF Club. Rimal is also the winner of the Annapurna Marathon held in Pokhara last year.
Nepal Police Club’s Bhumiraj Rai (2:41:17) and Army’s Purna Tamang (2:42:55) were third and fourth respectively. Winner Rimal received Rs 100,000, while runner-up Khatri got Rs 70,000. Third placed Rai received Rs 50,000 and fourth placed Tamang earned consolation prize.
Minister for Social Development of Gandaki Province Nardevi Pun, President of Sujal Dairy Krishna Thapa and President of EFN Tej Bahadur Gurung handed over the medals and certificates to the winners of the event.
