Chitwan Rhinos registered fourth straight victory and advance to the final of the Women’s Champions League T20 Cricket Tournament here at the TU Stadium today.

The Rhinos thrashed Biratnagar Titans by 53 runs in their last league match. The Rhinos posted 122-8 in 20 overs and packed Titans for 69 runs in 17.5 overs. With the win, Rhinos finished as table toppers in five-team competition with eight points and advanced to the final.

Kat Queens Kathmandu finished second with six points after their eight-wicket victory over Lalitpur Falcons. They will face third-placed Titans in eliminator. Falcons, who suffered to the third straight victory, will play against Pokhara Paltan, who also made early exit with three losses, in a meaningless match on Monday.

In the day’s second match, the Rhinos rode on contributions from openers Kajal Shrestha and Kanchan Shrestha to post the fighting total. Kajal top scored with 36 off 46 balls hitting two fours, while Kanchan struck six boundaries in her 41-ball 34. The Shrestha duo added 69 runs for the opening partnership but the Rhinos collapsed losing seven wickets for 30 runs.

Skipper Indu Barma, who scored 15-ball 17 hitting two fours, and Suman Khatiwada (10) also scored in double figures. Sabnam Rai was the pick of the Titans bowlers taking 2-17, while Sonu Khadka, Sharmila Magar and Aarati Bidari grabbed one wicket each.

In reply, only two Titans batsmen could score in double figures. Opener Jyoti Pandey scored 21 off 19 balls hitting four boundaries, while Dolly Bhatta struck a four and two sixes in her run-a-ball 21.

Kabita Gautam took 3-5 from three overs for Rhinos and that also earned her the player-of-the-match award, while Suman Khatiwada claimed 2-23. Rekha Rawal, Santoshi Chaudhary and Ritu Kanoujiya grabbed one wicket each.

In another match, Falcons posted 105-5 in 20 overs before the Queens reached 106-2 with 16 balls to spare.

Queens skipper Rubina Chhetri Belbashi led the team from the front with a brilliant half century. Player of-the-match Belbashi struck nine boundaries and a six in her 52-ball 59. Roma Thapa scored 18 off 23 balls hitting two fours.

Earlier, Roshani Bohara top scored for Falcons with 29 off 50 balls, while skipper Nary Thapa scored a quick fire 22 of 19 balls hitting four boundaries. Mamta Chaudhary (15) and Gita Gosai (13) also scored in double figures. Ishwori Bist took 2-30 for Queens, while Saraswati Kumari grabbed one wicket.
