Police investigate after Haringey Borough v Yeovil abandoned amid racism allegations

• Metropolitan police making inquiries into events at FA Cup tie
• Haringey goalkeeper allegedly racially abused and hit by missile

Police have confirmed they are investigating reports that racist comments were made during the abandoned FA Cup fourth qualifying round tie between Haringey Borough and Yeovil Town.

No arrests have been made but the Metropolitan police continue to make inquiries after Haringey’s players walked off the pitch on Saturday following allegations of racial abuse towards the goalkeeper Valery Pajetat. Police are also investigating reports that items were thrown on to the pitch, with Pajetat reportedly struck by a missile.
