KATHMANDU: Four Nepali cricketers have been featured in the latest ranking of the International Cricket Council (ICC) T20. The global cricket governing body made the announcements on Wednesday night.
Batsmen Paras Khadka and Sharad Veswakar, and bowlers Sompal Kami and Basanta Regmi have been included in the ICC Men’s T20 ranking.
Paras is ranked 94th while Sharad stands right at the 100th position in the batsmen category. Likewise, Regmi is ranked 74th while Sompal is ranked 92nd in the bowling category.
Pakistani batsman Babar Azam, Afghani bowler Rashid Khan and Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell stand on top of the rankings for their respective categories.
Pakistan stands on top of the table as the highest ranked T20 team followed by India in the Men’s category while Australia is rated the highest followed by New Zealand in the Women’s category.
New Zealander Suzie Bates tops the batting ranking while Australian bowler Megan Schutt has been ranked the best bowler and West Indies’ all-rounder Stefanie Taylor tops the respective category in the Women’s T20 Rankings.
The ICC determines the ranking of the players based on their performance in the international tournaments.
