Nepal thrash Pakistan 9-0 in AFC U-19 Women’s C’ship qualifiers

KATHMANDU: Nepal buoyed with a 2-0 victory against arch-rival India, demolished Pakistan 9-0 in AFC U-19 Women’s Championship qualifiers played at Chonburi Stadium, in Thailand, today.

Nisha Thokar’s hattrick and Puja Rana brace inflicted heavy defeat to Pakistan in a one-sided affair.

Nepal’s Manjali Kumari opened the scoring as early on the second minute of the game before Samjana Lawati doubled the tally on the 32nd minute.

Alisha Zimba scored another goal after five minutes to give Nepal a deserving 3-0 lead before the first half. Puja Rana scored her brace in the 48th and 54 minutes of the game before Thokar netted her hattrick on 57th 74th and 85th minutes.

Saru Limbu registered her name in the scoresheet in the dying minutes of the game.

Nepal are in group ‘B’ along with the hosts Thailand, arch-rival India and Pakistan.

After today’s game, Nepal have registered six points from two games.
