KATHMANDU: Nepali U-23 cricket team has set a target of 173 runs against Sri Lanka on the first match of the 13th South Asian Games (SAG) at Tribhuvan University Stadium in Kritipur on Tuesday.
Sent to bat first on losing the toss, Nepal scored 172 in 20 overs at the loss of five wickets.
Dipendra Singh Airee lead the home side scoring 72 runs in 44 balls (4 fours and 6 sixes).
Pawan Sarraf added 22 runs while Binod Bhandarai and Gyanendra Malla scored 21 each. Arif Sheikh added another 19 runs taking the total to 172.
Dipendra Airee and Binod Bhandari displayed a partnership of 53 runs for the fourth wicket.
Sri Lankan bowler Kamindu Mendis took two wickets.
