KATHMANDU: Nepal national football team faced a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Kuwait in the second and final friendly match at the Al Shabab Stadium in Kuwait City on Monday night.

The two teams had played a goalless draw in the first match on March 21.

The home team took the lead in the 29th minute from the spot after Nepal defender Ranjit Dhimal committed a foul inside the d-box.

Yousuf Naser converted the penalty and the goal turned into the decider.

Nepal goalkeeper Kiran Chemjong made a series of brilliant saves in the second match in a row. The match was second for coach Johan Kalin, who took over the national side from March 1. Meanwhile, All Nepal Football Association President Karma Tshiring Sherpa welcomed the players at the Tribhuvan International Airport upon their arrival from Kuwait on Tuesday.
