KATHMANDU: Nepali men’s team finished 14th in the World Trail Running Championships in Spain on Saturday.
The team of Tirtha Tamang, Samir Tamang, Bed Sunuwar and Purna Tamang, all from Tribhuvan Army Club, participated in the World Trail Running Championships for the first time.
The course was 86km long on small footpaths along an ancient pilgrimage route with climbs totalling 5000m. Spain, England and France bagged top three positions respectively.
And, Nepali women’s team of Rojina Bhandari, Chhechee Sherpa and Manikala Rai was 16th.
