Nepal beat MCC by 9-wicket in rain washed match

KATHMANDU: Nepal defeated Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) by nine wickets in a rain spoiled game reduced to six overs during triangular T20 series played at the Lord’s today.

Nepal won the toss and elected to field first under cloudy conditions. MCC managed to score 40 runs with the loss of four wickets in six overs.

MCC’s Sri Lankan skipper Mahela Jayawardene top scored with 24 runs off 16 deliveries which included four hit to the fence. Nepal’s spearhead Som Pal Kami took two wickets and veteran spinner Shakti Gauchan chipped in with a wicket.

With the loss of Anil Sah’s wicket, Nepal raced to victory in just 4.4 overs.

Opening batsman Subash Khakurel making his comeback to the national fold remained not out on 16 runs with 15 balls while veteran batsman Gyanendra Malla hit 12 runs in just four balls that included a four and a six.
