LALITPUR: Nepal claimed three silvers and one bronze medal in the third South Asian Speak Takraw Championship here at the Nepal Army Sports Complex on Sunday.
Nepal finished second in men and women Regu events along with women’s doubles, while the hosts won bronze in men’s Kwad event.
With four medals, Nepal finished second in overall standing. India won all four gold medals to claim the team championship, while Bangladesh bagged one silver and three bronze and Sri Lanka pocketed four bronze medals in the four-nation competition.
Nepal Olympic Committee President and Member of Parliament Jeevan Ram Shrestha, National Sports Council Member Secretary Keshab Kumar Bista, Nepal Sepak Takraw Association President Netra Bahadur Gurung among others handed over the prizes to the winners.
