• Black will still oversee Mo Farah’s run at Chicago Marathon
The head of UK Athletics, Neil Black, is to quit at the end of this month after paying the price for his longstanding support of the banned US coach Alberto Salazar.
Black looked desperately downbeat and struck a sombre tone on Sunday when he said he would be reviewing his position when he got back from the World Athletics Championships in Doha. He did, however, say he wanted to stay on until after next year’s Tokyo Olympics.
