This festival, which shows the reverence of the mother, is celebrated on every first new moon of the year.
Mother’s Day is given honor of giving birth to sweet mother to a living mother, giving gifts of sweet dishes and new clothes, and remembering the mother of remembering mother, reciting donations and charity. Today’s day is considered sacred festival for both mother’s living or alive.
Today, Mathatirtha’s fare is gathered in the west side of Kathmandu. There is a feud of devotees who worship in Mother’s memory. In Buddhist religions, parents also come to worship in the remembrance of the late mother.
