The Marylebone Cricket Club thrashed Nepal by 113 runs in the Twenty20 match under their Legacy Tour here at the Tribhuvan University Stadium today.

Batting first, the MCC posted 189-7 in their accumulated 20 overs before packing the home side — the mixed team of national and U-19 players — for a paltry 76 runs in 13.1 overs. Opener Billy Godleman top scored for the visitors with a quick fire 54 off 30 balls that included four each boundaries and sixes, while Ed Young struck three fours and a six in his 37-ball 42.

Miles Hammond scored a fiery 13-ball 33 with the help of four boundaries and two sixes. Alex Thomson hit a six in his unbeaten on 18-ball 20, while Tom Westley scored eight-ball 13 hitting three boundaries. Rashid Khan was the pick of the Nepali bowlers taking 3-28, while Kamal Singh Airee, Jitendra Mukhiya, Abinash Bohara and Sushan Bhari grabbed one wicket each.

Chasing a massive 190-run target, the Nepali batsmen failed to build partnership and lost wickets at regular interval.

Rashid Khan was the top scorer for home team with 16-ball 18 that included two fours and a six, while Sandeep Jora struck three boundaries in his nine-ball 16. Opener Kushal Bhurtel hit three fours in his 14 off just nine balls, while Bhim Sarki, who scored run-a-ball 13 with the help of a four, was the only other batsman to contribute in double figure.

Ed Young claimed 3-18 for MCC, while Oliver Hannin-Dalby and Alex Thomson grabbed two wickets each. Chris Wright, Will Rhodes and Will Vanderspar claimed one wicket apiece.

The MCC, who played one each 50-over match with U-19 and national team and a three-day First Class game against Nepal, will now travel to Pokhara, where they are scheduled to play two T20 matches against local sides.
