BHOJPUR: The second Mayor Cup Men’s Open Football Tournament will be held on March 1 at a public ground in Bhojpur Municipality of Bhojpur district.
Addressing a press meet, the organiser Bhojpur District Football Association on Monday informed that the tournament will be held for eight days from March 1 to March 8 in the district.
According to the treasurer of the Association, Binam Shrestha, as many as 16 teams — including the teams from two municipalities and seven rural municipalities — will participate in the tournament sponsored by Bhojpur Municipality.
The competition is estimated to cost around Rs 800,000, in which Bhojpur Municipality will provide support of Rs 600,000, the organisers informed while adding that the remaining expenses would be managed from other areas.
The winner and the first runner-up of the competition will receive Rs 200,000 and Rs 100,000 respectively, while the two semi-finalist teams will get Rs 10,000 each.
