PACHTHAR: Surya Rai and Anil Basnet in the senior category, and Mangesh Tamang and Birendra Rai, in junior, won Mayor Cup Inter-district Badminton competition held in Pachthar district today.
The three-day long competition was jointly hosted by Phidim Municipality and Panchthar Badminton Organisation was held in Phidim, the district headquarters. The competition was held in two categories — junior and senior. As many as 26 teams participated in the junior category while there were 16 teams in the senior.
In the senior category, Surya and Anil defeated Krishna Tamang and Biju Shrestha 22-20, 21-13.
Similarly, Mangesh who teamed up with Birendra defeated Padam Gurung and Gajendra Tumbapo 21-13, 21-19 in the juniors’.
Mayor of Municipality honoured the winners with Trophies and certificates.
