Signature Manang Marshyangdi Club came from a goal down to beat Brigade Boys Club 3-1 in the Pulsar Martyrs Memorial ‘A’ Division League here at the ANFA Complex grounds today.

Rajat Tiwari scored for BBC before Olawale Hafeez netted two and Heman Gurung scored one for MMC in the second half.

In another match, Himalayan Sherpa Club played a goalless draw with Nepal APF Mahindra Club.

In the first match, BBC took lead in the 29th minute against the run of the play when Rajat Tiwari’s powerful shot from the edge of the area kissed the nets. MMC failed to find the equaliser despite creating ample goal scoring opportunities in the first half. BBC goalkeeper Sagar Raya made a brilliant save to deny Anjan Bista’s header in the 40th minute, while the MMC striker headed above the cross bar in the first half injury time. Sujal Shrestha also failed to find the back of the nets twice.

MMC levelled the scores minutes into the second half when Heman Gurung’s shot took a deflection before entering the goal. The six-time league champions, MMC took the lead in the 57th minute through Olawale’s goal. Prabesh Kunwar beat BBC skipper Dilen Loktan with the through pass and Olawale fired past goalkeeper Raya from the d-box. Olawale then sealed the victory with an easy goal from six-yard box in the fourth minute of the injury time.

Earlier, MMC muffed up a couple of scoring chances. BBC goalkeeper Raya saved Kamal Shrestha’s powerful attempt from 30 yards out in the 51st minute, while Olawale failed to score from close in rebound in the 77th minute. Olawale also wasted an opportunity in the first minute of the injury time following a cross from Heman Gurung.

BBC also came close to scoring twice in the second half. MMC goalkeeper Bishal Shrestha saved Anup Gurung’s header, while Ritik Khadka shot wide off the post.

In another match, both Himalayan Sherpa Club and APF created a couple of opportunities but none of them could find the back of the nets as they settled for a draw.
