HETAUDA: The hosts Makwanpur-11 defeated Nepal Police Club (NPC) 1-0 in the semi-finals and advanced into the final of the Martyr’s Memorial Makwanpur Gold Cup in Hetauda on Wednesday.
Rajin Subba scored the only goal of the game in the 78th minute in a highly enthralling encounter today. He was later declared man-of-the-match for his scintillating performance and bagged a cash purse of Rs 10,000.

In an early exchange, both the teams played an exhilarating attacking game in the first half, however, they both failed to capitalise on it.
Makwanpur-11 goalkeeper Ashok Baral made double saves as he thwarted NPC’s Ravi Paswan fierce strike and smother Bharat Shah’s rebound shot with a brilliant reflex save in the 12th minute of the game.
During the post-match presentation, Makwanpur-11 head coach Bijayala Shrestha said he was satisfied with his player’s performance.
In contrary, NPC head coach Ananta Raj Thapa said lack of coordination between the players cost us the game today.
