KATHMANDU: President of Nepal Bodybuilding and Fitness Association Rajesh Babu Shrestha and other individuals felicitated World Bodybuilding Championships gold medallist Maheswar Maharjan here on Monday.

Shrestha had announced the reward of Rs 300,000 while welcoming the player at the Tribhuvan International Airport last week. Shrestha handed over the amount to Maharjan amidst a programme on Monday.

Likewise, Managing Director of Fitness Choice Uttam Silwal gave away Rs 120,000 to Maharjan, while NBBFA Member Mohan Krishna Shrestha contributed Rs 51,000.  Also, first Vice-president of NBBFA Bijay Lal Kayastha, Vice-president Rajesh Upadhyay, sports enthusiast Gopi Bartaula and Divine Fitness Centre handed over Rs 50,000 apiece to Maharjan. Rajju Ranjitkar of Aarav Multinational Pvt Ltd and NBBFA Treasurer Sagar Bagale gave away Rs 25,000 each.

Team manager Shyam Shrestha, the first Nepali player to win medal in World Bodybuilding Championships, was also honoured at the programme along with former silver medallists Nanita Maharjan and Rujesh Shahi. Maharjan had won gold medal in 75kg weight category at the 10th World Bodybuilding and Sports Physique Championships held in Chiang Mai, Thailand from December 11-17.
