KATHMANDU: A 10-member weightlifting team is in Saturday leaving for South Korea to undergo special training for the 13th South Asian Games slated for December 1-10 in Kathmandu, Pokhara and Janakpur.
Four men lifters — 10th SA Games gold medallist Kamal Bahadur Adhikari (73kg), Bikash Thapa (81kg), Bishal Singh Bista (96kg) and Sagar Bhandari (109kg) — and four women players — Sanju Chaudhary (55kg), Devi Kumari Chaudhary (64kg), Tara Devi Pun (76kg) and Laxmi Ban Bista (81kg) — will take part in Nepal-Korea joint training. Coaches Ram Paudel and Bikash Shakya will accompany the players to Korea. National Sports Council Member Secretary Ramesh Kumar Silwal bade farewell to the team on Friday.
