Province 5 defeated Indian side Supaul Cricket Club by 23 runs in the Group C match of the Manmohan Memorial One Day Cricket Tournament here at the Inaruwa grounds today.
Chasing a 154-run target, the visiting Indian club were packed for 230 runs with five balls to spare, thanks to the five-wicket haul from Rupesh Kurmi, who claimed 5-29 from 7.1 overs. Jay Chand Yadavtop scored for the Indian team with 40 runs, while Rajesh Singh scored 39. Utkarsha Bhaskar contributed37 and Rinku Simhawat added 34 runs.
Earlier, Provice5 were bowled out for 253 runs in 49.2 overs after they elected to bat first. Prakash KC was the top scorer of the team with 46 runs, while Subhebdu Pandey scored 40. Krishna Karki scored 38 runs and Sandeep Sunar chipped in with 30 runs. Sivansi Raja, Indra Jit Poddar and Mayank Pamnani claimed three wickets each for Supaul.
Rupesh Kurmi of the winning team was named the man of the match. On Tuesday, Province7 will play against Province5.
