Karki crowned Mr Kathmandu

Kathmandu, September 7

Ramesh Karki of Tribhuvan Army Club was crowned Mr Kathmandu after he defeated five finalists of the Nationwide Bodybuilding Championship here at the Nepal Academy today.

Karki, who won the 75kg section title to make it to the finals along with five other bodybuilders who won their respective weight categories, received Rs 150,000 along with the trophy. Karki had finished first in his weight category ahead of Ramesh Adhikari of Body Garage and Sitanshu Pandey of Fitness Garage.

Umesh Dangol of City Fitness Gym won the 55kg section title, while Bikash Tamang of Ratna Shree Gym and Dibek Awal of Ultimate Physical Fitness Centre were second and third respectively. In 60kg, Amir Thapa of Fitness Garage came first ahead of Suraj Tandukar of Paradise Fitness Centre and Sunil Chand of KS Body Shapes. Likewise, Bibek Bista of Shapes2Fitness and Gym won the 65kg section title, finishing ahead of Rupesh Lama of Gym Khana Muya Thai and Nishant Rai of Muscles and Fitness centre. In 70kg, Mithun Lama of Fitness Garage, Binod Sunuwar of Hammer Fitness and Chandra Man Shrestha of Nobodh Aerobic and Gym claimed top three spots respectively.

Also, Lalit Dhimal of Galaxy Fitness won the above-75kg weight category, while Rajot Baniya Chhetri of G Fitness and Jay Ram Twayana of Wave Physical Fitness were second and third respectively.

In the women’s Athletic Physique category, Roji Pakhrin of Case Total Fitness won gold medal, while Sanam Mulguthi of Fistop and Jashmin Lama of Wave Physical Fitness came second and third respectively.

Ishwor Shahi of Fitness First won the men’s Sports Physique (below-170cm) section gold ahead of Bishnu Ram KC of Fitness Plus and Rajiv Thapa of Shape2Fitness, while Dhiraj Gharti of Gym Khana Muya Thai, Giri Raj Rokka of Shape2Fitness and Yubak Khan of  Body Garage claimed top three spots respectively in men’s Sports Physique (above-170cm) category.

In junior section, Ojas Charan Joshi of Gym Khana Muya Thai won the Mr Kathmandu title, while Kishwor Karki of Paradise Fitness Centre and Ritik Ghimire of The Byayam Shala came second and third respectively.
