KATHMANDU: Judoka Soniya Bhatta on Monday left for Lebanon to take part in the 12th Asian Cadet and 19th Asian Junior Judo Championship slated for May 9-13.
Bhatta will compete in women’s below-44kg weight category. Coach Rajan Kumar Shrestha accompanied Bhatta to Lebanon. Nepal Olympic Committee President Jeevan Ram Shrestha bade farewell to them. Meanwhile, judokas Indra Bahadur Shrestha (66kg), Roshan Bahadur Dong (60kg), Manita Shrestha Pradhan (57kg) and Punam Shrestha (78kg) will travel to Lebanon for the same event on Tuesday.
Coach Telerka, manager Rajesh Shrestha and Nepal Judo Association President Deepak Harsha Bajracharya will accompany the players to Lebanon. — HNS
