KATHMANDU: A three-member Nepali team is on Saturday leaving for Japan to participate in the World Judo Championship to be held in Tokyo from August 25 to September 1.
Indra Bahadur Shrestha will fight in men’s below-66kg weight category, while Mohan Bam will take part in below-60kg section. Likewise, Manita Shrestha Pradhan will compete in women’s below-57kg weight category.
Bam, who is currently in Austalia, will join the team directly in Tokyo. Chief Coach Birendra Ranjit will accompany the players to Japan.
President of Nepal Olympic Committee Jeevan Ram Shrestha bade farewell to the team on Thursday.
