LALITPUR: The Women’s Committee of the All Nepal Football Association on Friday felicitated former national women’s team skipper Jamuna Gurung and FIFA Assistant Referee Bina Shrestha at a programme organised to mark the 109th International Women’s Day.
Gurung had made the national team debut in 1999 and played for almost one and half decade scoring 35 goals in 24 matches.
Gurung, who was forced to stay out of the national team due to injury, is currently managing the U-19 girls’ team. Likewise, Shrestha was honoured after she became the first Nepali referee to officiate in the Olympic Qualifiers. The Committee also organised a friendly match on the occasion.
