KATHMANDU: Bhairahawa Gladiators beat Kathmandu Kings XI by six wickets in the second qualifiers of the Everest Premier League T20 Cricket Tournament at TU Cricket Stadium on Thursday.
Gladiator’s skipper Sarad Vesawakar won the toss and opted to field first in a foggy condition today. Spinner Kushal Malla riped Kings XI top order batsman with his spin bowling to dismiss them for a meagre 100 runs all out in their allotted 20 overs.
Man of the match Malla was the pick of the bowler with 4-0-20-3.
Kathmandu Kings XI’s Sandeep Rajali top scored with 27 runs off 26 balls with a four and a six. Again today, Kings XI batsmen failed to click when it mattered the most in the crucial fixture.
In reply, RN ten Doeschate and Ravi Inder Singh made 45 and 31 runs respectively to take their team home in a crucial encounter.
Samshad Sheikh took two wickets but to no avail. Gladiators will take on Lalitpur Patriots in the title showdown at the same stadium on Saturday.
The winner will walk away with a cash purse of Rs 2.5 million along with trophy and runner-up will bag Rs 1 million, according to organisers.
