Johanna Konta held her nerve against Lauren Davis to seal her place in the third round, while there were wins for Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal
I leave you with news that Grigor Dimitrov did get over the line against Marin Cilic, beating the out-of-form 11th seed 6-7, 6-4, 4-6, 7-6, 6-3. A huge win for Dimitrov, who’s through to the third round in gutsy circumstances. That’s all from me today. Thanks for reading. I’ll be back with more coverage tomorrow.
Serving for the match for a second time, Konta double-faults to make it 0-40. This is unravelling at breakneck speed. Three break points for Lauren Davis, who can’t quite believe her luck. Somehow, though, Konta gets back to deuce. She even drop shots to save one of the break points. Then the Plucky Brit nails a winner to earn a fourth match point. This time she coverts. A belting backhand into the left corner opens up space for Konta to come forward and ram a driven forehand volley away for her second ever win at Roland Garros.
