KATHMANDU: The Nepal-India FootballTennis Tournament began here at the G4 Futsal on Monday.
Nepal defeated India in the mixed doubles, while the visiting players dominated the field in other categories. Sonia Magar and Suman Lama teamed up to defeat India’s Truptimayee Tarai and Muhammed Yaseen in the mixed doubles match.
Apsara Begum of India beat Sonia Magar of Nepal in the girls’ singles match, while Namita Sinha and Manita Kumari Dev outplayed Nepal’s pair of Sonia Magar and Sanumaya Tamang in doubles category.
In boys’ singles, Deepak Digal of India defeated Nepal’s Arpan Rai, while Vanu Kurimilla and Saiteja Goud beat the home team of Roshan Nepal and Samir Thakur.
Likewise, in triple category, Papuna Sahu, Mahammed Basieth and Kanhaee Nayak defeated Nepali team of Sanjeep Rai, Jiban Rai and Pradip Rai.
The two-day event organised by Nepal Football Tennis Association will end on Tuesday.
