The Football Association has opened an investigation and contacted Eric Dier for his observations after the Tottenham player went into the stands and confronted a supporter following the FA Cup home defeat by Norwich on Wednesday.
Spurs have also begun an investigation and believe they know the identity of the fan involved. They are not considering a club punishment for Dier while they work with the FA to establish what happened. The ruling body is considering bringing a charge against the player.
