KATHMANDU: A group of former footballers living outside the country on Saturday felicitated former coach and players of the sixth South Asian Federation Games gold medal winning squad.
All Nepal Football Association President Karma Tsering Sherpa, vice-presidents Krishna Thapa, Bir Bahadur Khadka and Upendra Man Singh and coordinator of the programme Anil Ratna Tuladhar honoured head coach Dhana Bahadur Basnet, who led the national team to glory in 1993. Members of the team and former coaches Bhim Thapa, Maheshwor Mulmi, Yogumber Suwal, Ashok KC, Gopal Shrestha, Laxman Chhetri and Dhirendra Pradhan were also felicitated along with Baiju Kapali (posthumously).
Apart from tournament coordinator Tuladhar, former footballers Umesh Pradhan, Suresh Karmacharya and Madhu Karki (US), Sagar Gurung (Hong Kong) and Tika Thapa (UK) contributed for the programme.
