KATHMANDU: Ujjwal Tara School on Saturday honoured legendary athletes Jit Bahadur KC and Bimala Rana Magar at the closing ceremony of the third Ujjwal Tara Dashain Run for Good Health.
Along with the Ujjwal Tara Sports Awards, athletes KC and Rana Magar received Rs 11,111. The race featured 14 events, including 3km race for women and children, 5km race for men and army officials, and 3km walkathon for above-60 participants.
Top three athletes in all 14 events were awarded with medals and certificates. More than 1,000 students and athletes took part in the event organised for meet and greet for Dashain and health awareness, informed event coordinator and Ujjwal Tara advisor Bishnu Bahadur Karki.
Kageshwori Manohara Municipality Mayor Krishna Hari Thapa among others handed over the prizes to the winners. The school had organised an interaction programme last week and raised Rs 1.5 million for Dr Bhagwan Koirala’s upcoming project — Kathmandu Institute of Child Health.
