KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has requested the Indian government to grant the required permission and slots at Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi for Buddha Air to start commercial flights from Nepalgunj as the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal has granted permission to Buddha Air to operate three daily flights from Nepalgunj to New Delhi starting from January 1, 2019.

“We are working to create interline ticketing facility with globally renowned GDS companies so that passengers can travel to and from Nepalgunj from all over the world from New Delhi. This will facilitate Nepalis living in western and far-western Nepal with a shorter alternative to Kathmandu for the first time in the aviation history of Nepal,” reads a media release issued by the airline company.

“We will also connect Nepalgunj and Pokhara daily from the day we start flights to New Delhi, which will promote and increase number of tourists to western Nepal and onwards to Pokhara.”
