Pokhara, February 1
Brigade Boys Club defeated hosts Om Development Bank Pokhara-XI 1-0 and advanced to the quarter- finals of the sixth Manakamana Cable Car Pokhara Cup Football Tournament here today.
BBC’s foreign recruit Kazim Busari scored the solitary goal of the match at the Pokhara Stadium. After a goalless first half, Busari scored in rebound in the 72nd minute after Pokhara goalkeeper Ajit Parajuli punched Manoj Rai’s free kick and the home team defenders failed to clear the ball properly. Busari was later declared the man of the match.
BBC coach Kabin Byanjankar was a happy man to win the match against the home team. “We are here to participate in the tournament without having a closed camp training and we struggled in scoring in the match,” said Byanjankar.
Pokhara-XI assistant coach Prahlad Hirachan said the goal was the turning point of the match. “We conceded the unnecessary goal because of the mistake from our goalkeeper Ajit Parajuli and that changed the complexion of the match,” he added.
On Saturday, Nepal Police Club will take on CMG Club Sankata.
