KATHMANDU: Nepal Boxing Association on Monday felicitated four boxers and officials at a programme.
Bimala Shrestha and Poonam Rawal, who had won bronze medals in the India International Boxing Championship held from February 1-7 last year, were honoured along with Sushil Shrestha and Diwana Sherma — who were named the best boxers of the Bir Ganeshman National Boxing Tournament held in Kathmandu last week.
NBA President Ram Awale, former President Umesh Maskey and representatives of Ex-Boxers Group Macau Prakash Shrestha and Man Bahadur Bhandari among others handed over Rs 25,000 each to the four boxers.
Ex-Boxers Group Macau had sponsored the amount for the players. The NBA also felicitated Dr Raju Dangol for his contribution in Nepali sports.
