With 21 stages of racing for 176 riders from 22 teams – over a distance of 3,480km – this year’s Tour comes to an end in Paris, so here are some of our favourite images from the last three weeks
The Tour de France brings highs and lows for the riders, both in their emotions and the scenery they ride through. This year’s edition started in Brussels, Belgium, on July 6 and concluded in the French capital, Paris, as ever, with a race over the cobblestones. En route, the riders have to contend with a variety of terrains, disciplines and weather, as well as the noise of the enthusiastic fans that line the route.
