KATHMANDU: Biratnagar and Chaudandigadhi joined Waling and Bahrabise in the semi-finals of the Deputy Mayor Cup Inter-municipality Women’s National Football Tournament here at the Nepal APF Club grounds on Monday.
In the group stage match, Biratnagar edged past Bidur Municipality 3-2 for their fourth consecutive victory that put them in the semi-finals with maximum 12 points.
Ema Rai, Rekha Paudel and Sabitra Magar scored one goal each for Biratnagar, while Tara Thing and Anu Lama netted one each for Bidur. Likewise, Chaudandigadhi also registered their fourth win in as many matches.
Chaudandigadhi, who had already advanced to the semi-finals, defeated Kawasoti Municipality 2-0. Anushka Sherpa scored both the goals for Chaudandigadhi. In another match, Dhangadhi thrashed Panauti Municipality 8-0. Chandra Bhandari scored four goals, while Shrisha Karki completed her hat-trick and Man Kumari Chaudhary netted one for the Dhangadhi. In Tuesday’s semi-finals, Biratnagar will face Chaudandigadhi, while Waling will play against Bahrabise.
