KATHMANDU: Pernod Ricard is organising the Ballantine’s Open Golf Championship here at the Gokarna Golf Club on Saturday. Around 100 golfers are expected to take part in the tournament which will be played under stableford 3/4 handicap format, informed the organisers in a release.
According to the organisers, attractive prizes are up for grabs in overall, gross, women and senior sections along with the longest drive, closest-to-the-pin and most birdies.
“Ballantine’s association with golf can be traced back to at least 1960, when the Ballantine’s Tournament took place at Wentworth Golf Course. Ballantine’s and golf share a strong historical and geographical heritage that continues to leave a lasting impression in the world. Scotch and golf, both originated from Scotland and we aim to celebrate the core values that Ballantine’s shares with the sport; integrity, originality, inner strength and tradition,” the release added.
