Dhangadhi, February 19
CYC Attariya defeated Kathmandu Goldens by seven wickets in the last league match of the Ruslan Dhangadhi Premier League here at the proposed Fapla International Stadium here today.
With their fourth victory, Attariya topped the table with eight points and earned the berth in first qualifier along with the Goldens, who finished second with seven points. Top two teams will face each other on Wednesday for a place in the final.
Rupandehi Challengers finished third, while Mahendranagar United came fourth. They will play in the eliminator with the winners making it to the second qualifier. The winners of eliminator and losing side of the first qualifier will meet in second qualifier to decide the second team in final Biratnagar Kings and defending champions Dhangadhi Stars were eliminated from the league round. Kings earned four points, while Stars failed to win a single match and ended the campaign with one point.
On Tuesday, Attariya chased down the 76-run target losing three wickets in 17 overs to record their fourth victory. Opener Jaykishan Kolsawala top scored for Attariya with 33 off 42 balls with the help of five boundaries.
Opener Subendu Pandey scored Skipper Dipendra Singh Airee struck three fours in his 11-ball 20, while Sundeep Jora remained unbeaten on seven. Prem Tamang struck a six in his 23-ball 10.
Lalit Narayan Rajbanshi, Surya Tamang and Rashaid Khan took one wicket each for the Goldens Earlier, the Goldens were bowled out for a paltry 75 runs in 20 overs. Skipper Gyanendra Malla top scored for the team with 32 off 49 balls hitting two boundaries, while other batsmen failed to put up remarkable performance.
CYC Attariya skipper Dipendra Singh Airee took 3-4 from two overs, while Ram Naresh Giri claimed two wickets. Bhuvan Karki and Sunny Patel grabbed one wicket apiece.
