“I feel like I executed really well out there tonight,” says Barty. “I had a few early break points against me, but I played those really well. I was happy with how I played, and how I pushed Petra back.” And with that, she’s off to fire some balls into the crowd.

I’ll level with you – I don’t fancy Kvitova’s chances of a break here. Barty has been rock-solid on serve in this set, and quickly moves 30-0 up. When a half-chance comes the Czech’s way, she sends a tired forehand wide.

Three match points for Barty: the first saved with a cracking return, and the second denied with a drilled winner down the line! Maybe it’s not all over? Barty has other ideas, an unstoppable first serve sealing her semi-final place.
