Panchthar, January 12

Tribhuvan Army Club advanced to the final of the 10th Ruslan Falgunanda Gold Cup hereat the Phidim grounds today.

TAC defeated Royal Football Club of Darjeeling 2-1 in the second semi-final match. Rajesh Paudel and Eric Bista scored one goal each for TAC, while Siddhant Chhetri netted one for the Royal FC.

TAC will now play against Jhapa-XI in the final match on Monday.

Paudel put TAC ahead in the 16th minute before Chhetri levelled the scores five minutes later. Bista then scored the winning goal for the Army in the 90th minute. Bista was named the man of the match.

A total of 10 teams participated in the tournament organised by Phidim Sporting Club and Panchthar District Football Association in memory of National Hero Falgunanda Lingden.

Top two teams will receive Rs 400,000 and Rs 200,000 respectively.
