Pokhara, November 8
The Immigration Department has slapped a fine of Rs 1.4 million on All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) Volunteer Coach Amadeu Cando de Oliveira for overstay in the country.
Pokhara Tourist Police had arrested de Oliveira on October 17 and the volunteer coach is currently in Central Jail in Kathmandu. He had been associated with Kaski Football Association for the last one year and was working as a volunteer coach. “De Oliveira was working as a Volunteer Coach with us for the last one year,” confirmed Kaski FA President Milan Gurung.
According to Pokhara Immigration Department, de Oliveira had entered Nepal in 2015 during the time of massive earthquake and his visas expired after two years. As per the immigration rules, tourists are fined eight dollars per day for their overstay up to 150 days and the fine of Rs 1.4 million was slapped on de Oliveira as he was found to have stayed more than that. Last year, Immigration Department arrested 22 foreigners for illegal stay in Pokhara alone.
